In 2013, we established our first of five Cleveland area hearing aid offices at Ridge Park Square in Brooklyn. As a Zounds franchisee, our patients only had access to hearing aids designed and manufactured by Zounds. As time passed, we saw as the best way to provide top-quality products to our patients was to expand our offerings to other hearing aid manufacturers. In order to be the best we could be for you, in 2017 we began the arduous task of separating from our franchisor and redefining ourselves.
In early 2018, we made it official and changed our name to Hearing Plus. From a day to day standpoint and from most patients’ perspective, we’re still the same great team of hearing care professionals. We are still able to maintain and perform some in-office repairs of Zounds hearing aids. But, we now offer superior products from international brands such as Signia (Siemens), Phonak, Widex, and ReSound.
“The quality of workmanship and durability of our new product lines are unmatched,” says Glenn Harbold, the founder and managing partner. Indeed, the hearing aids have passed rigorous testing to qualify as moisture and dust resistant (IP-67 or better). What does that mean to you? Better reliability and protection against moisture-related damage. If your hearing aid falls into the sink or you accidentally wear them in the shower, you should have nothing to worry about. The IP-67 rating means the hearing aids could be submerged in water up to one meter for one hour without water entering the units.
For our long-time patients, you’ll see “Hearing Plus” on your caller ID instead of Zounds. What has not changed is the personal and thoughtful care you receive when you come through our doors. We strive to improve every single day. Our number one priority is patient care–ensuring you have access to the best available hearing aids AND providing the knowledge so you can select what’s best for your lifestyle and your budget.
